Dealing with White Spots in Aluminum Foil Lamination

This issue is common in PET (printing film)/aluminum foil lamination. Aluminum foil adhesives generally have higher viscosity than other flexible packaging adhesives. When the thickness distribution of multicolor ink is uneven, the adhesive may not fully fill the ink pits during curing, resulting in visible white spots.

Main Countermeasures:

Select Appropriate Ink: Use finer-particle ink to reduce adhesive application volume if necessary.

Reduce Machine Speed: Control the machine speed between 100-150m/min.

Set Steel Roller Temperatures Properly:

Metering roller: 40-45℃

Coating roller: 50-55℃

Laminating roller: 45-65℃

These settings should be adjusted according to the adhesive characteristics.
