PE Film with Three Different Processes
Abstract: After stretching process, the PE film has greatly improved the tensile strength, straightness, light transmittance, haze, barrier properties. This article introduces three type PE stretched films with different processes, including casting MDOPE film, blow MDOPE film and BOPE film.
When PE is processed and formed, under the action of external force, the polymer chain will be oriented, that is, the polymer chain is arranged along the direction of external force. The mechanical properties, thermal properties and optical properties of the oriented PE are very different from those of the unoriented PE. Generally speaking, after stretching process, PE film has been greatly improved in tensile strength, straightness, light transmittance, haze, barrier performance and so on.
The orientation of PE film is divided into uniaxial orientation and biaxial orientation, commonly known as Machine Direction Oriented PE film (MDOPE) and Biaxially Oriented PE film (BOPE) in the film industry. Combined with two forming methods of PE film, extrusion (extrusion casting) and blow molding, PE stretched film has three film-making processes in total.
1) Casting MDOPE film
2) Blow MDOPE film
3) BOPE film
