Something you should know about pouch making（1）
When designing the packaging, attention must be paid to the practicality problems in the process of slitting and pouch making. In other words, deviations should be taken into account when designing the packaging to save further difficulties during the process of slitting and pouch making.
All sides of composite bag should be designed with similar color or transparent. If there’s large color contrast around all sides of the packaging bags or roll film, after imposition vertically and horizontally, an obvious color contrast will be found at the junction. Because pouch making machine, slitting machine or automatic packaging machine cannot be able to cut 100% precisely, normally there has deviation no less than 1mm, that’s why at the cutting place of the bags and roll film there would have a line with contrasting color which has a bad effect on the packaging appearance.
For composite bags and retort bags, in order to enhance their strength and protect the ink layer, it’s recommended to print different color all edges around the composite bags. For those with large area of bottom color, especially when it has no transparent edge in the design, enlargement of 1mm on both sides of the patchwork must be considered in the process of plate making. By this way, no transparent edges or foil edges, even if it has some deviation, will appear, in the process of slitting and pouch making.
