Key Processes in Mono-Material PE Composite Mono-Material Production
Material Selection:For general PE//PE mono-material, the main control points are achieving adequate barrier properties. While simple PE//PE materials may not meet barrier requirements, a PE//EVOH//PE structure can achieve this but will increase costs.
Key Points in Production:
A. Printing
1)Registration
Material should be flat;
Control tension carefully;
Maintain proper drying temperature;
Adjust the overprint slightly for better alignment.
2)Ink Adhesion
Ensure effective drying;
Use appropriate inks.
3)Drying Effect (Residues and Blocking)
Use fast-drying solvents where possible;
Maximize air flow for drying;
Avoid immediate printing and laminating.
B. Lamination
1)Tensile Control in Solvent-free Lamination
Control tension and drying temperature effectively.
2)High Residues in Dry Lamination
Maximize drying air volume; control temperature;
Use a high-concentration adhesive with shallow gravure roller.
3)Lamination Strength
Choose adhesives compatible with PE emissions.
C. Bag-Making
This is the most critical step for mono-PE materials, with key considerations as follows:
1)Sticking to Heat Sealing Blades
Use non-stick treatment for heat sealing blades, produce with high temperature and fast sealing, and preheat the material.
2)Surface Burns While Bottom Layer Fails to Seal
Use properly matched materials with a large difference in melting
3)points between top and bottom layers.
Tension Drift During Bag-Making
Control pull tension, minimizing it as much as possible; design with the widest side horizontal in layout, and if the bag is small, maximize the number of rows per pass. Minimize the material width to reduce pull resistance.
4)Zipper Bag Head Burst
Use low-temperature zippers specifically for this purpose.
Supporting Mono-PE Recyclable Composite Packaging Growth
Further considerations include the following aspects:
Sealing Equipment Compatibility: Enhancing the final customer's packaging sealing performance.
Bag-Making Equipment Compatibility: Improving heat sealing performance, maintaining consistent temperature, reducing resistance (tension), and implementing preheating functions.
Raw Material Compatibility for Mono-PE Recyclable Composite Packaging:
1)Top Layer: Requires high flatness, strong corona treatment, high melting point, and good tensile strength.
2)Bottom Layer: Requires high flatness and a low melting point; a larger difference between the melting points of top and bottom layers is ideal.
3)Barrier Property Enhancement and Development: Continuous improvements are necessary.
